My kitten and I have tried some very basic Shibari at some points in our relationship, but the both of us strongly prefer leather with buckles and straps, for both ease and our own aesthetic enjoyment. When in a session with my kitten I prefer to focus more so on pain and physical limitations based upon my submissive, as I am more of a sadist then anything, and the simplistic nature of leather cuffs and the ease with which they can be used makes perfect sense to the both of us.

However, when My kitten and I have attempted Shibari or rope work, it has always been primarily symmetrical. We have used some simple hog ties, as well as a few light arm binders. One of the ones that I enjoyed more than the others was a very simple bodily restriction that caused my kitten to take a bodily stance akin to that of a pony girl. Apart from that, we have never given much thought or research to the schools of rope bondage.
